Health race

So, I go to the hospital for more tests but, before they can see me, they want me to fill in a Racial Monitoring form. OK. So, I'm looking down the list and there's Chinese, Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, African, Afro-Caribbean etc and, right at the bottom, White. Not French, Greek, Polish, Russian - just White. And my first thought is: "Do we all look the same, then?"

Anyway, there's no way I'm filling in that box. And "White, Other" won't do either. So, it's back to the top of the list and I start to work my way down again - there's got to be some ethnicity I can lay claim to. And there was.

Turns out, I'm Irish.

Top of the morning to you.
